HUMBOLDT Y LA EMANCIPACIÓN DE HISPANOAMÉRICA

In order to celebrate the Bicentennial of our Independence, in 2009, the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador organized an exhibition at its Cultural Center and an international symposium on "Humboldt and the Emancipation of Latin America". The academic works which were presented are now compiled in a beautiful volume, in whose pages the authors seek to clarify the position of the "Second Discoverer of America," Alexander von Humboldt, prior to the independence movements in Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia, Peru and Ecuador. In addition, as an academic cultural event, the project exhibition was overseen by Gaby Costa Ullauri, Historian and Cultural Manager. This information is likewise contained in the book.
