NAS RODAS DA CAPOEIRA E DA VIDA: CORPO, EXPERIÊNCIA E TRADIÇÃO

The book is aimed at both the academic public and lovers of capoeira, interested in issues such as corporeity, transmission of culture and permanence/changes within the tradition. The author is a practitioner of capoeira Angola for many years, and spent the course of her research learning of regional capoeira. This experience has had a double function: not only has learned a new style of practice, but in the light of this process, she was able to re-learn the style (Angola) that her body was already use to. The result of this is a careful and sensitive reflection on the modes of commitment of the body in two aspects of capoeira predominantly seen under the simplistic view of an opposition between conservation and the distortion of tradition.
