In the past few years, there’s been an increasing demonstration by indigenous peoples and communities looking to defend their lands and populations from dispossession. Also, indigenous actors demands have gained visibility in defense of their rights in the State’s judicial institutions and before international jurisdictional authorities. This book documents the complex relationship status between State and Mexican indigenous peoples, while underlineing the latter’s capacity to generate alternatives.
