During recent years, information has ceased to be a purely technical issue to acquire a social category. Information Competences. Exploration Routes in University Education remarks the importance of teaching and other adult mediators participation in the collaborative process of knowledge construction in which competition finds its full meaning. The authors question the dichotomy between digital natives and immigrants, a metaphor suggesting a supposed superiority of students over the professors in respect of the mastery of technological skills as if they were the only determining factor of the competence.
