This book studies the conservation of modern housing developments built in Brazil between 1930 and 1964, analyzing it from the point of view of the cultural heritage. These buildings, intended for social housing, are an important aspect of modern Brazilian architecture, but have their conservation seriously threatened. Taking part in the debate about the conservation of modern architecture and urbanism, the author defines conceptual parameters and traces strategies for managing this heritage, facing questions of value assignment, relevance and modern living proposals.
