New Approaches to the Study of Latin American States

Nuevos enfoques para el estudio de los Estados latinoamericanos

In this century, modern States have been transformed, and this process demands new theoretical understandings and empirical research. This collection of works offers a set of theoretical questions and arguments to rethink the subject of the State in Latin America. The work results from collaboration between Burocracias y los Estados Latinoamericanos [Research Program on Latin American Bureaucracies and States] (PRIBEL), of Simón Bolívar Andean University, Ecuador, and the Global Initiative of the Center for Development and Environment (SUM), of the University of Oslo, Norway.
This book is a collective effort by Pablo Andrade A. (editor), James D. Bowen, Benedicte Bull, Bob Jessop, Juan Pablo Luna, Esteban Nicholls A., Cristina Rojas, and Antulio Rosales.
