Running: body and mind. Psychological factors linked to running
Correr: físico más mente. Factores psicológicos relacionados al correr
This book is aimed at the general public, and in particular at those people who perform the physical activity of running. It aims to inform about certain psychological factors that affect physical performance while running, while providing simple tools for the proper management of these factors.
In the introduction it is expressed how and why the psychological factors are intimately linked with the physical aspects at the moment of explaining our performance. Subsequently, the author briefly narrates his experience as a runneer, mainly to illustrate certain issues that will appear throughout the work. Next, a classification of runners is presented that includes both those who do not run and the elite runners.Thereafter, the different chapters appear directly related to the psychological factors present at the time of running, the relationship between the mind and the races, the arousal and the anxiety, the motivation, the selfefficacy, the personality, the establishment of objectives, ending with a chapter destined to give psychological support to marathoners.
The book closes with an Epilogue, which deals with the possibility of changing with the help of psychology not only in sports practice in general, or in running in particular, but also in the different issues that go through our lives.
