Shipwreck of a Shadow is a story of maritime adventures, but the ship that is at the center of the narration is closer to the cursed ships of Joseph Conrad or William Hope Hodgson than to the daytime sailings of other authors. It belongs to the kind of ship that seems to be made to set sail only at night and without a compass. Even though the novel is told in an accurate maritime language, their characters do not follow the well-known routes in order to navigate into waters of fantastic literature.
