The work investigates the mutual relationships between some of the so-called “new social movements” and education, whether formal or informal. Through an analysis of contemporary social dynamics, the book offers reflections that focus on popular and revolutionary collectives, such as the Landless Rural Workers’ Movement (MST), the Black movement, and the LGBTQIA+ movement, as well as conservative streams like the “Escola sem Partido” (School without Party) and neopentecostalism. In this way, the authors weave together social movements and educational processes, presenting different perspectives and understandings of this interaction.
