This book is the result of a deep and careful research that involved different actors with the objective of revaluing and promoting the culture of the Cashinahua people. The coordinators Eliane Camargo and Diego Villar worked with the support of translators and researchers, young and old, from the Cashinahua people themselves (the collaborators Agustín Torres Torres, Alberto Roque Toribio and Juan Torres Nascimento) to rescue oral testimonies of the past and present, myths, songs, rituals and a varied graphic documentation not only based on old and recent photos but also on drawings by the Cashinahua themselves. The reader will be able to appreciate, through the three chapters that compose the text, different degrees of linguistic, ethnological, literary and plastic complexity. At the same time, the book has the additional contribution of an extensive appendix with the Cashinahua lexicon used throughout these pages. Presented in a bilingual format, the proposal of this work maintains at all times the concern for the exchange and dissemination of native knowledge.
