The State of Exception and Legal Ways, seeks to show the readers a critical and creative balance of the national and foreign theoretical production on legal ways and the state of exception. To achieve that, it collected the most significant contributions by Brazilian and foreign researchers that have dedicated to this in the last twenty years. Grouped into three axes, the studies describe how the exception devices work, applied to their concrete operations; they analyze legal ways used by the state of exception in economic, social and political structures, to reveal its close relation with certain normality, which is able to make it a government paradigm; and finally, they point out focus of resistance and set out escape routes. This is an innovative and interdisciplinary work.
