Social research in Ecuador is crucial to understand the cultural dynamics of multiple realities in the country. For this reason, the research group of the Universidad de Las Américas takes the initiative and analyzes the undertakings of Pisulí neighborhood located in the north-west of Quito to identify the economic, organizational and sociopolitical that keep businesses in vulnerable areas. This work includes a conceptual approach to the Popular and Solidarity Economy (EPS) and brings together several community experiences generated in the province of Bolívar (Salinas) and Pichincha (Yungilla and Tocachi).
