Veils of Memory is the most recent volume of Jorge Eliécer Pardo’s stories. He presents Colombia’s social and political history of the deceased and thousands of displaced of rural zones toward urban areas of the country. He distinguishes through love stories, different periods of Colombia’s historical transformation. The 32 texts that compose the book have 45 photographies of the same author as expressions of women that were victims of the Colombian armed conflict, and who behind their faces, their looks, the texture of their skin, keep narrations that wander like specters in the book.
