The recovery of memory is a central action for the generation of awareness and the dismantling of the versions on which the legitimising narrative of state violence during the dictatorship in the province of Río Negro, Argentina, is based. However, in this reconstruction of history, some voices were silenced or underestimated. This book presents interviews with nineteen women who recount their experiences before and during the dictatorship and makes a contribution to the knowledge of the recent past from a feminist perspective. This involves not only making known how the terror was instrumented, the alternative political projects that were repressed and what happened to women’s lives, but also the consequences for those who were not directly victims of the crimes.
