El Colegio de México

Mexico

The editorial vocation of El Colegio de México has its origins in 1938, the year of the founding of La Casa de España in Mexico, its historical antecedent. That same year the first book of its bookish history was published: El payaso de las bofetadas by León Felipe Camino. Since then, El Colegio has had as one of its main tasks the publication of the work of the researchers of its study centers. It has also been dedicated to the dissemination of outstanding authors from other institutions, both national and foreign. With a catalog that amounts to more than 2,500 titles, each year it publishes between 80 and 90 books, in printed and electronic versions, as well as eight printed periodicals—Estudios de Asia y África, Estudios Demográficos y Urbanos, Estudios Económicos, Foro Internacional, Estudios Sociológicos, Historia Mexicana, Nueva Revista de Filología Hispánica, Boletín Editorial de El Colegio de México—and two electronic journals: Cuadernos de Lingüística and Revista Interdisciplinaria de Estudios de Género.
