The National Institute of Public Health of Mexico (INSP) is a Higher Education Institution whose primordial commitment to society is to offer research results for relevant public health issues for the prevention and control of diseases; to train health professionals who will help promote healthy life conditions among the various population groups, and to publish scientific advances in the area of public health with an emphasis on population health, nutrition, infectious diseases, health systems, surveys, and assessment of social programs. The Publications Department of the INSP has a vast experience in issuing scientific publications and communication, and is alert to the evolving trends in these areas. As part of these tasks, it has created its own publisher, which during more than 60 years has issued the internationally indexed bi-monthly scientific journal Salud Pública de México, thereby achieving a preeminent position in Spanish America.
